Toyota Kirloskar Motor Limited (TKM) on Wednesday announced its new organisational structure. According to a statement form the company the main objectives of the new changes are to strengthen the organization towards achieving TKM’s vision and further enhance speed of decision making.
Shekar Viswanathan, who is presently Deputy Managing Director, Commercial, has been promoted to as Vice-Chairman, External Affairs. While Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director, Sales, Marketing and Customer Service, has been promoted as the Deputy Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer. In his new role, he will head sales, marketing, customer service and commercial divisions.
The announcements were made by Hiroshi Nakagawa, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Toyota Kirloskar Motor Limited.
Commenting on the revised structure of the organization Hiroshi Nakagawa, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, TKM, said “As we expand our operations in India, we need our team to take up new roles and responsibilities. I wish my colleagues the best for their new endeavors.”
The company also promoted Masanori Takahashi, Deputy Managing Director, Technical and Purchase, to the post of Deputy Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer. In his new role he will head manufacturing, technical, purchase and vendor development including supplier support.
The proposed changes will be effective from, January 1, 2013, and the executives will continue to hold positions in the company’s Board of Directors.
Shigeru Tomonaga, who is currently the Deputy Managing Director, manufacturing has been promoted as an Executive Advisor to the TKM Board of Directors and Chief of Supplier Support Center, the company said.
