Toyota Motor Corp has said it will voluntarily recall more than 110,000 Sienna minivans of the 2011 model in the United States, Canada and Mexico to replace a switch bracket on the brake light that could cause the brake lights to remain on.

The recall covers about 94,000 Sienna vehicles in the United States, about 12,600 in Canada and some 5,000 in Mexico, all produced before early November, it said yesterday.

The break light switch bracket could be deformed when the parking brake is fully depressed, the company said. The condition ''could cause the brake lights to remain on or, if the deformation is significant, the brakes could become partially engaged due to contact from the bracket,'' it said.

Toyota is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this condition, it said, adding that owners of the vehicles involved will receive an interim notification in the near future.

The Japanese automaker has not sold the Sienna model in Japan.
