Trend Micro unveils SME security solutions

Trend Micro India on Tuesday announced the launch of InterScan Gateway Security Appliance to address the needs of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in India.

Speaking of the company's strategy to offer solutions and services to organisations of varied sizes to help them grow their businesses, Steve Quane, general manager, Trend Micro, said, "Through a comprehensive portfolio of gateway-based solutions, Trend Micro offers customers a choice of services, hardware and software solutions dependant on their business needs and business size."

By blocking malicious malware at the Internet Gateway, businesses can reduce the risk of infiltration and infection early on, before the malware reaches the desktop, he further noted.

Mid-sized organisations look for easy installation and maintenance. The new all-in-one, secure content management appliance incorporates antivirus, anti-spyware, anti-spam, content filtering and URL filtering into one seamless unit.

Unlike unified threat-management appliances, InterScan Gateway Security Appliance sits behind a customer's existing firewall/VPN (Virtual Private Network) solution adding an additional layer to his Internet gateway security.
