Tata Group's retail arm Trent today posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 1.55 crore for the year ended March 31, 2010.
The company, which runs lifestyle retail chain 'Westside' and book store 'Landmark' among others, had a consolidated net profit of Rs 1.03 crore in the year ended March 31, 2009, Trent said in filling to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The company said the results for the year ended March 31, 2010, are not comparable with the corresponding period of the previous year on account of the transfer of "its Star Bazaar business to its 100 per cent subsidiary Trent Hypermarket with effect from 1st August, 2008."
Star Bazaar is a hypermarket retail chain of the company and sells beverages, health and beauty products, vegetables, fruits, dairy and non-vegetarian products.
During the year, the company's consolidated total income stood at Rs 1120.4 crore while it had Rs 850.8 crore in the previous fiscal.
