Chief Minister Amarinder Singh today said US firm Tropicanna would open its units in Ferozepur and Hoshiarpur.

He was today addressing a gathering at Khadoor Sahib, about 45 km from here, to celebrate the anniversary of the second Sikh master Guru Angad's ascendancy to Gurugaddi.

He hoped that it would herald a new era in the sphere of farming and allied professions in the state battling to introduce diversification in crops. He said that the US Company would provide about 20 lakh plants of Malta among farmers.

Apart from this Reliance would open 351 agriculture hubs across the state which would not only educate farmers but also provide necessary materials to enhance produce.

The Goindwal Industries Welfare Association presented a memorandum to the Chief Minister urging to revive the sagging industry.
