Trust Chemists & Druggists, Bangalore-based pharmacy retail chain, has set up shop at Wipro's Electronics City campus as part of its plan to be present at the city's IT campuses. |
The chain has 27 standalone shops and one 'Trust Diabetic World' dedicated to selling only diabetic drugs. |
"The idea to set up pharmacy shops in IT campuses came after supplying medicines to companies like HSBC and Network Solutions for over five years," said Hemanth Bothra, managing director, Trust. Similar shops which will remain open round the clock will come up at all Wipro campuses. |
The company is also seeking to enter big format retail stores. "For this, we have begun to run pharmacy shops at RPG's Spencers on M G Road and are working closely with Valdel Retail's 'Dailys' to open more shops," said K A Cariappa, operations head of Trust. |
To seek a foothold in hospitals, the company as a test case is managing pharmacy shops at Panesia Hospital at Basaveshwaranagar, M G A Hospital at Marathalli, RC Hospital at Raja Rajeswarinagar and is in talks with other hospitals. |
Since inception, the company has invested Rs 8.6 crore to build a supply chain in the city. IT has achieved a turnover of Rs 12 crore in 2005-06 and is looking at Rs 25 crore in FY 2006-07 through new initiatives. |
