TTSL announces entry into the Virtual World

Telecom service provider Tata Teleservices (TTSL) has announced its entry into the Virtual World, becoming the first Indian telecom operator to enter the popular Second Life community.     

Mumbai-based Virtual World Development and Service firm, Indusgeeks Solutions Pvt Ltd is partnering TTSL in the initiative.     

The virtual avatars of Tata Indicom brand ambassadors' -- cricketers Irfan and Yousuf Pathan-- launched a competition, that combines Virtual World and competition, on Second Life.     

"The digital world is evolving at a fantastic pace-cutting across geographical and cultural barriers and we firmly believe that the Virtual World has a huge outreach potential for businesses," Tata Teleservices Limited Vice-President (Marketing) Abdul Khan told reporters here.     

 

"The 'Follow Your Heart' talent hunt is a platform for amateurs (photographers, artists, musicians) to showcase their talent at the Tata Indicom Island in Second Life from January to March 2009," Khan said.
