TutorVista Global, which broke new ground by offering online tutoring from India to the US and has been widely noticed by the global media, is on a rapid expansion path and set to finalise a new round of private equity funding of 50 million, which in one go will more than double the $35 million that have been raised in the previous three rounds.
One reason for the need for more capital is the way in which its Indian operations, through its subsidiary Manipal K-12 Education, have taken off by tapping into the huge demand for quality private education even as the online tutoring for the US has expanded.
