TV18 beams into entertainment biz with E18

The TV18 Group is foraying into the entertainment & news/information events business, for which it has floated a new division, christened E18, under Network18, which is the group's listed holding company.

According to an official release issued by Network 18 Fincap to the BSE today, this move is derived from the group's JV with Viacom Inc.

Farhad K Wadia has been appointed as CEO of the new operation. E18 will try and dominate the live entertainment space by leveraging the various media brands owned and managed by TV18 Group. E18 plans to conceptualize and stage large format events such as concerts by international artistes, bollywood shows/award nights in the country and around the region. Conceptualization and execution of large format business conferences, conclaves and seminars is also on the cards, the release said.
