TVS Capital expands senior management team

Ropes in former partner of Baring Equity Karthik Ranganathan and former CFO of TCS S Mahalingam among others

TVS Capital has expanded its senior management team by roping in former partner of Baring Equity Karthik Ranganathan and Rahul Deshpande, who was with from Ashmore Alchemy India as Director – Investments.

The fund also said Former CFO of TCS S Mahalingam, Dileep Madgavkar and Praveen Chakravarty have joined their Advisory Ecosystem.

TVS Shriram Growth Fund (TSGF) is a Rs 1,100-crore domestic fund managed by TVS Capital Funds Ltd.

The company today announced that following the successful fund raise, the team has been expanded with additions to the investment management team and advisory ecosystem.

Ranganathan brings 17 years of experience in Private Equity, Management Consulting and Industry. He was a Partner with Baring Private Equity where he managed investments through their entire life-cycle - from sourcing, investment, monitoring to exit.
 

Mahalingam was till recently the CFO at Tata Consultancy Services Limited (TCS), and served as its executive vice-president and Compliance Officer. Mahalingam has also joined the Fund Advisory Board.

Rahul Deshpande joins from Ashmore Alchemy India where he spent five years as Associate Director and has actively invested in high growth companies in mid-market space. He brings over 12 years of professional experience across investment and operational roles.

Madgavkar comes with a background of investing in Indian companies including the role of a CIO and got insights in investing in high mid-sized listed companies will significantly support Fund’s investments in PIPE deals, according to company's release.

Chakravarty is a senior professional in the financial services domain and has been an active angel investor.

Gopal Srinivasan, Chairman and Managing Director - TVS Capital Funds Ltd commented that the fund has raised around Rs 600 crore in the context of difficult economic scenarios. “We believe they (the new members) will help accelerate the process of investments in a disciplined and focused manner to generate superior returns for our investors."
