Under the 'productivity through metrics' category, Mahindra & Mahindra bagged the third prize. Lucas TVS of Chennai, Maruti Udyog Ltd and Wheels India Ltd bagged the first three prizes under the category 'optimising metalworking process'. |
Kirloskar Toyota Textile Machinery and Sono Koyo Steering Systems won first prices respectively for 'reducing idle time'. HAL, Kanpur, M&M Ltd and MICO won prizes for 'manufacturing system redesign'. |
Sundaram Clayton, Chennai, M&M and Amara Raja Batteries, Tirupati, won the first three prizes respectively for 'better asset utilisation'. BHEL, Hyderabad, won for 'leveraging IT for productivity'. |
About 16 automobile companies presented 21 case studies for the final presentation round. |
