Total exports dropped 13.3 per cent in January 2015, at 25,029 units, compared with 28,875 units in January 2014. Two-wheeler exports dropped to 19,232 units during January, this year, as against sales of 23,438 units in the previous month.
Total two-wheeler sales were up one per cent to 1,81,516 units during January 2015, as compared to 1,79,576 units sold during the same month of last year. Scooter sales grew by around 24 per cent to 56,032 units in January, this year, compared to 45,198 units in the corresponding month, last year. Motorcycle sales saw a growth of around seven per cent, an increase to 69,949 units as against 65,449 units the same month last year.
Three-wheeler sales were up around five per cent, to 7,082 units in January this year, over 6,737 units in the corresponding period last year.
