TVS Motor Company today reported a jump of 19.25 per cent in total two-wheeler sales during September at 1,37,246 units, compared with 1,15,091 units in the same month last year.
During the month, motorcycle sales stood at 71,278 units, against 53,991 units last year, registering a growth of 32.02 per cent, TVS Motor said in a statement.
Sales in the scooter segment, however, fell marginally to 27,108 units, compared with 27,199 units in September 2007, it added.
The Bangalore-based auto maker's exports rose 39.84 per cent to 18,229 units in September, against 13,036 units in the corresponding period a year ago.
"During the month, the company also broadened the horizons of its TVS Scooty brand with the launch of Balancing Wheels, a unique and innovative product that can be easily fitted on to the Scooty," TVS Motor said.
