Chennai-based two-wheeler maker TVS Motor Company today reported 5.06% increase in its total vehicle sales in January at 173,514 units.
The company had sold 165,152 units in the same month last year, TVS Motor Company said in a statement.
Two-wheeler sales of the company grew by 5.80% last month to 171,112 units from 161,725 units in the year-ago period, it added.
Scooter sales increased by 1.80% to 41,469 units in January from 40,736 units in the same month of 2011, while motorcycle sales declined by 3.12% to 65,608 units from 67,721 units in the year-ago period.
The company's domestic two-wheeler sales registered a growth of 7.58% to 153,014 units against 142,227 units in January 2011.
Three-wheeler sales of the company went down by 29.91% to 2,402 units from 3,427 units in the same month of 2011, the statement said.
Company's total exports decreased 12.32% to 18,610 units from 21,224 units in the same month previous year, it added.
