About 800 prominent personalities from media and entertainment industry from India and abroad will converge here for the 'Media and Entertainment Business Conclave-2010' from December 1, that will deliberate on issues confronting the industry.
The Entertainment Division of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) is organising the two-day conclave under the chairmanship of actor Kamal Haasan.
Addressing a press conference here today, the veteran actor said the conclave would identify the challenges facing the industry across states.
The main objective of the conclave is to work closely and strengthen links between the film industry in different states and help develop its prospects, Kamal said.
"The thrust of our deliberations will be on bringing about unity between South and North Indian cinema. We surely and strongly believe there can be unity leading to greater economic development in the film industry," he said.
The star said the initiative launched with the collaboration of FICCI was restricted not just to Tamil Nadu or Andhra Pradesh. "This is becoming a national movement," he noted.
