United Breweries Limited said on Thursday its beer brand Kingfisher Strong has been recognised as 'Asia's Best Strong Lager Beer' at the prestigious World Beer Awards for the year 2013, held in UK recently.
Kingfisher Strong, India's largest selling beer brand from the house of United Breweries Limited, was conferred a Gold medal at the prestigious World Beer Awards -2013, the city-based company said in a release in Bangalore.
At a ceremony held in UK, Kingfisher Strong was recognised as 'Asia's Best Strong Lager Beer', it said.
The variety is said to be unanimously chosen as the best by a panel of judges from Asia, Europe and America under Roger Protz - International Chairman, World Beer Awards.
United Breweries said: "Kingfisher Strong enjoys close to 40 per cent market share in the Indian sub-continent and has also been one of the fastest growing beer brands in the strong beer category in India."
