State-run lender UCO Bank today reported a 93.6% jump in net profit to Rs 230.75 crore for the second quarter ended September 30.
The Kolkata-headquartered bank had posted a net profit of Rs 119.19 crore for the corresponding quarter of 2010-11, it said in a filing to the BSE.
UCO Bank's total income also went up by 25.8% to Rs 3,730.79 crore during the quarter ended September 30 from Rs 2,964.54 crore in the year-ago period, the filing added.
The percentage of the bank's gross non-performing assets (NPAs) vis-a-vis its total loans stood at 3.64% during the September quarter of the current fiscal, as against 2.39% in the same period last year.
Its net NPAs amounted to 2.11% of total loans as of September 30, 2011, compared to 1.18% in the year-ago period.
During the first half of the fiscal, UCO Bank's net profit stood at Rs 523.28 crore, up 37.9% from Rs 379.40 crore in the April-September period of 2010-11.
The bank's total income grew by 27.1% to Rs 7,407.67 crore during the first half this fiscal from Rs 5,827.27 crore in the year-ago period.
