Uday Khanna named CEO of Lafarge India

Uday Khanna, senior vice president (group strategy), is to take over as chief executive officer (CEO) of Lafarge India w.e.f July 1, 2005 from Martin Kriegner.

"A chartered accountant by profession, Khanna, who joined Lafarge (Paris) in 2003, has already arrived in India to ensure a smooth transition," an official release said, adding that Kriegner's new responsibility would be announced at a later date.

Lafarge commenced operations in India five years back, and has a combined cement capacity of 5 million tonne per annum.  It operates two integrated units in Chhatisgarh and one grinding unit in Jharkhand.
