Unique package for newly-weds

SriLankan Holidays, the leisure arm of SriLankan Airlines, has announced a unique honeymoon package for newly-weds.

According to the company, a couple can fly to a luxurious hideaway on the sandy shores of the Maldives for two nights of romancing under the stars and three days of fun on the beach for Rs 34,999.

The Maldivian honeymoon promotion is part of SriLankan Holidays' popular 'Mega 999' offer, which has taken over 1,000 passengers on holidays since its launch in April 2006.

The company has also announced a series of new holiday offers, responding to the overwhelming positive customer interest, it added. Accordingly, SriLankan Holidays' will tailor-make holidays for the specific needs of travellers, incorporating special excursions and tours.

SriLankan Holidays general manager Amith Sumanapala said the "tailor-made holidays are a result of a lot of requests especially to new destinations like China, which offers travellers great sightseeing opportunities like the Great Wall of China and Tiananmen Square.

SriLankan Holidays' 'Mega 999' Far East package offers holidays in Bangkok, Pattaya Beach, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Beijing and Hong Kong.

Holiday destinations to India include Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Vailankanni (in Trichy), Poovar and Kovalam beaches near Thiruvananthapuram.

SriLankan Holidays will add a number of new destinations to its 'Mega 999' holidays, including London , Paris , Frankfurt and Goa in India , it added. SriLankan Holiday's is 40 percent owned and fully managed by Dubai-based Emirates Airline.

Other SriLankan Holidays' promotions include exclusive special event-related holidays, like the recent package tour to London to catch the Sri Lankan cricket team in action against the English team and the opportunity to indulge in the melodies and lyrics of British boy band ColdPlay live in Singapore.
