Universal Cables profit dips

EBIDTA during the current quarter was higher at Rs 17.08 crore compared to Rs 13.75 crore in the corresponding quarter. Net sales for the quarter stood at Rs 131.40 crore, an increase of 16.65 per cent over the same period last year.

R S Lodha, chairman, Universal Cables said that the company had recently got its 220kv cable samples successfully tested at the CPRI laboratory, Bangalore. "This being the first successful 220kv cable type test in India, has unveiled a new roadmap for the company to tap the emerging 220kv power cable market."
