Universal ties up with Chinese cranes manufacturer

Pune-based Universal Construction Machinery and Equipment ltd has launched one more product in its range of vertical material handling and tower crane with German technology. An MOU was signed between Universal Construction Machinery and Equipment ltd and China based Useter Cranes Co. ltd recently for tower cranes. Useter has its tower crane manufacturing plants in Beijing, China and South Korea. The company has installations in China, Malaysia, South Africa, Middle East, Australia and Germany.

The cranes will be manufactured at company's plant in Shindewadi, in Satara. Universal will be engaging latest and sophisticated machinery like Robotic welding , advance paint booths and other machinery required for manufacturing of tower crane.

 

Technology parts will be imported from China and Korea.

Speaking on the occasion Ranjit More, managing director, Universal said, "Useter will be setting up an exclusive plant near Beijing for its imported components. Universal will be selling these cranes throughout India through its extensive sales and service network. Spares and service will be locally provided through its regional offices .Universal also plans to give trained operator along with the cranes."

He added that the market size for tower cranes in India is about 600-700 units per year. They are targeting a market share of 10 per cent in the first year.

According to Universal, the cranes have been specially designed considering Indian site conditions which will ensure safe working of tower cranes.  It has all safety measures and follows European code of practice for design.
