Uttar Pradesh government today signed two MoUs with Bajaj Hindustan and Parekh Aluminex for generation of 2230 MW power in the state.
Secretary Power, Navneet Sehgal signed the MoUs with Bajaj Hindustan Vice Chairman Kushagra Bajaj for setting up 1980 MW power plant at Bargarh (Chitrakoot) with the cost of Rs 10 thousand crore and Parek Aluminex Director Vineet Parekh for setting up of 250 MW power plant costing Rs 1250 crore at Fatehgarh.
All these projects would be completed by 2014-15 and would provide direct job opportunities to 1200-1500 people and indirect employment of Rs 10-15 thousand people, Chief Secretary Atul Kumar Gupta said.
Sehgal on the occasion said that by 2014 the state would become power surplus and people of the state would get 24 hours power supply.
