US Tech embarks on green cause

Thiruvananthapuram-based US Technology Resources has embarked on a green initiative keeping in tune with the global need for environmental protection.
 
The company launched an ambitious "Green Day" initiative on World Environment Day on Monday by partnering with the department of forests to plant 2006 saplings in the state.
 
Arun Narayanan, head, global delivery, US Technology Resources, presented the corporate letter of support in this regard to the department on the occasion.
 
He said, "Green Day is a reflection of the culture and values of US Technology Resources and the fact that we work in Technopark makes us constantly aware of advantages and benefits of working in harmony with nature." He added that the company was committed to planting at least one sapling for each employee of US Technology in Thiruvananthapuram.
 
Company sources sad that US Technology Resources would oversee the implementation of the programme ensuring that the saplings were planted and cared for.
 
"Besides, Green Day will become a platform for making an eco-difference to the planet across worldwide locations, they added.
 
Positioned as Kerala's largest software services company, US Technology has, in its seven-year existence, been involved in social initiatives like Thejus, a US Technology community service programme, run by the employees.
 
With the launch of the Green Day, the company based in the famed "worlds greenest technopolis" aims at giving a human face to environmental issues.
 
US Technology, a part of the $5.5-billion Comcraft Group, which started its operations in India in 1999, employs over 3500 people.
