Steel-maker Uttam Galva today said it has exported a consignment of over 30,000 tonnes of galvanised steel coils to the US, the single biggest shipment of the commodity to America by any Indian entity.
The consignment of 30,100 MT was loaded on a vessel at the Mumbai port and it is the biggest single export consignment to the US of galvanised steel coils, the company said in a release issued here, without specifying when was it despatched.
The company has been able to export a full vessel load in adverse market conditions because of its tie-ups with a OEMs (original equipment manufacturers), Uttam Galva's Deputy Managing Director Ankit Miglani said.
"This also reinforces the fact that Indian steel quality is amongst the best in the world," he added.
