V-Mart to open 5 new stores in UP

Pan-India, it runs 76 stores across 63 cities spread over northern, western and eastern regions

Delhi-based retailer V-Mart has announced to open 5 more stores in Uttar Pradesh by March 2014.

The new outlets would come up in Jhansi, Ballia, Fatehpur, Allahabad and Rae Bareli, company's Chairman and Managing Director Lalit Agarwal said.

Currently, V-Mart operates 36 stores in 28 cities of UP. Pan-India, it runs 76 stores across 63 cities spread over northern, western and eastern regions.

"After getting encouraging response from our first store in Gorakhpur, we have been expanding our presence in UP, which has played an important role in our growth," he said.

V-Mart operates in tier II and III towns with its chain of 'Value Retail' stores offering apparels and general merchandise.
