Water and waste water management company, VA Tech Wabag, has received orders worth Rs 100 crore ($14 million) from overseas, according to a company announcement.
The company received an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) order worth euro 6.5 million to revamp a waste water treatment plant at Choutrana, Tunisia. The scope of the project, which is partly financed by Swiss loan, includes replacement of major equipment, control systems and repairs.
Another project was bagged by Wabag Turkey, taking over the operational management of the Adana waste water treatment plants, which it had earlier maintained till 2009. The large Adana east and west plants with a total capacity of 370,000 m3/d (cubic metre per day) were also built by Wabag.
An operation and maintenance contract from Romanian oil and gas company OMV Petrom SA for their refinery, which it has been maintaining since 2009, was also renewed, the company said. The Turkey and Romania projects together are worth euro 7.5 million.
Since 1995, Wabag had so far completed over 900 water and waste water plants worldwide.
