VA Tech Wabag bags Rs 100-cr worth overseas orders

One of the orders is a revamp of a waste water treatment plant in Choutrana, Tunisia

Water and wastewater management firm VA Tech Wabag today announced that it has received orders worth Rs 100 crore ($14 million) from overseas, according to a company announcement.

The company received EPC order worth Euro 6.5 million to revamp a waste water treatment plant at Choutrana, Tunisia. The scope of the project, which is partly financed by Swiss loan, includes replacement of major equipments and control systems including repairs.

Another project was bagged by Wabag Turkey, taking over the operational management of the Adana waste water treatment plants, whith it had earlier maintained till 2009. The large Adana East and West plants with a total capacity of 370,000 m3/d were also built by Wabag.

An operation and maintenance contract from Romanian oil and gas company OMV Petrom SA for their refinery, which it has been maintaining since 2009, was also renewed, said the company in an announcement. The Turkey and Romania projects together worth Euro 7.5 million.

Since 1995, Wabag has completed over 900 water and wastewater plants worldwide.
