The government today said various entities have expressed interest in the proposed sale of Telecommunication Consultants of India's (TCIL) 30% stake in Bharti Hexacom.
An Empowered Group of Ministers (EGoM) has already been constituted to decide on the price band and final price for the sale of shares held by the government of India in all Central Public Sector Enterprises, which is required to consider all cases, including the present case, Minister of State for IT & Telecom Gurudas Kamat said in a reply to the Lok Sabha.
Bharti airtel holds a 70% stake and TCIL holds the remaining 30% participating interest in Bharti Hexacom.
The response to the e-auction for 3G & broadband wireless access (BWA) spectrum has been encouraging, Kamat noted. He said the process of examination of issues raised by Parliament has already been initiated, Kamat added.
