Varmora Group to manufacture digitally printed wall tiles

Morbi-based manufacturer and exporter of cermaic wall, floor, porcelain and vitrified tiles, Varmora Group is all set to manufacturer digitally printed wall tiles for the first time in India. Currently, wall tiles having digital priting on are imported from Italy and Spain.

Varmora Granito Pvt Ltd, a flagship company of Varmora Group, is in the process of setting up India's largest wall tile manufacturing plant at Morbi in Gujarat. The company is investing around Rs. 50 crore for the proposed high tech plant having installed capacity of 40,000 square meters per day. The plant is scheduled to be operational by the end of January 2010.

 

"The new plant is equipped with digital printing machine to achieve precision, accuracy, sharpness and saturation of colors and textures. We are going to start digital printing on tiles that has never been used in India," said Bhavesh Varmora, managing director, Varmora Group.

The company expects to launch digitally printed wall tiles prducts by the end of next month, when its new facility becomes operational. At present, digitally printed tiles are imported in India and the customers have to pay high price of Rs. 350 to Rs. 450 per sq. ft.

"With the commissioning of our plant, we will have indigenously produced wall tiles with digital prints at affordable prices. I can not disclose the price range at this juncture, but consumers will get European quality wall tiles at competitive and affordable prices," he added.

The group's existing production capacity is 45,000 sq. mtr. per day, which includes wall, floor and vitrified tiles manufacturing.

"Our group turnover stands at Rs. 250 crore. We expect it to grow to Rs. 425 to Rs. 430 crore by next fiscal on back of new products and plant," he said.

Varmora Group on saturday also launched new generation 3GV vitrified tiles. It is also in the process of launching double charge products using Nano technology. This tiles have 95% reflective value and are stain-free.
