Auto-maker VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) today said it recorded a 13.3% jump in its total sales at 4,436 units in February, 2012.
The company, which is a joint venture between the Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, had sold 3,916 units in the same month last year.
Domestic sales increased to 4,186 units in February from 3,663 units in the year-ago period, an increase of 14.3%, VECV said in a statement.
Exports, however, fell by 1.2% during the month to 250 units from 253 units in February 2011.
VECV sales of light commercial vehicles in the Indian market increased to 2,994 units during the month from 2,655 units in the year-ago period, up 12.77%.
In contrast, heavy commercial vehicle sales dipped by 5.4% to 594 units from 628 units in February 2011, it said.
