Auto-maker VE Commercial Vehicles today said it recorded a 45.28 per cent jump in monthly sales to 3,279 units in October.
The Volvo Group-Eicher Motors joint venture had sold 2,257 units in the same month last year, VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) said in a statement.
Domestic sales in October increased to 3,070 units from 2,024 units in the same month a year ago, a jump of 51.68 per cent, the company added.
Exports for the month, however, fell by 10.30 per cent to 209 units from 233 units in October last year.
Sales of light commercial vehicles in the Indian market went up by 44.64 per cent to 2,430 units during the month from 1,680 units in October, 2009.
Heavy commercial vehicle sales recorded an over three-fold jump to 408 units in October, 2010, from 126 units in October last year, it added.
