 "Vedanta-controlled Balco wins IMEA Gold Award")
Vedanta-controlled Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (Balco) has bagged the prestigious India Manufacturing Excellence Award (IMEA) Gold Award-2015 for its outstanding performance in different fields in the industry.
The award was given to Balco in Mega Industries Sector category for its achievement in production, product quality as per world standards and for showing exemplary management and leadership in the industrial health, safety and environment sector.
The company, having its facility in Chhattisgarh’s Korba district, also received the ‘Certificate of Merit’ for Project Evaluation and Recognition Program 2015’ for Online Busbar Welding Project.

The awards were received by Ramesh Nair, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Whole Time Director of Balco.
Nair attributed the awards to the Balco family and said it was a collective effort of all employees and officials that yielded the desired results.
He added that the company would continue to achieve greater heights in production, productivity, quality assurance and customer satisfaction.
In all, 103 companies from pan India took part in IMEA-2015. The award was established in 2004 by Frost & Sullivan with an objective to support companies in their endeavour to become more competitive and in building lean organisational structures.
