London-listed metals and mining conglomerate Vedanta Resources plc is planning to invest close to Rs 480 crore in setting up modern anganwadi centres, village courtyards delivering mother and child care services, across India.
The company's Chairman Anil Agarwal inaugurated one such centre in Hasanpur village in Sonepat in Haryana today.
Speaking at the function the state's Women and Child Development Minister Kavita Jain said the anganwadi has been set up at a cost of Rs 12 lakh later informing the firm plans to set up 4,000 anganwadi centres in total.
