Consulting and IT services provider, Mahindra Satyam, has appointed IT and BFSI (banking, financial services and insurance) veteran Niraj Vedwa as the global head -- banking, payments and cards.
At Mahindra Satyam, Vedwa will be responsible to grow and support the existing businesses and also to strategise and incubate new service offerings in the banking, payment and cards market segments.
Before joining Mahindra Satyam, Vedwa was with core banking and private banking products provider Temenos AG Switzerland, where he was the director (global consumer banking) and member of management board. Prior to Temenos, he was the chief operating officer of Nucleus Software where he ran the company and six subsidiaries with profit-and-loss responsibilities.

“Niraj brings to the table rich experience in the banking and financial services vertical. His expertise will help the Mahindra Group to scale up the operations and establish ourselves as a leader in the BFSI space, as we foster innovation and deliver service excellence to our customers,” Ravi Vasantraj, head (BFSI), Mahindra Satyam, said in a release on Monday.
Mahindra Satyam’s scrip is currently trading at Rs 107.55 on the BSE, up 1.70%, over the previous close of Rs 105.75 a share.
