Venkateshwara forays into branded flour, pulses market

The Venkateshwara Hatcheries (VH) Group is entering the market of branded wheat flour and pulses. Uttara Foods and Feeds Private Limited, a VH Group company, will process and market the products under the brand name of Venky's.

The Rs 300-crore Uttara Foods and Feeds will initially launch the products in the markets of Mumbai, Pune and Hyderabad.

According to B Venkatesh Rao, managing director of Uttara Foods and Feeds Private Limited, the company has invested Rs 8 crore to set up a 100-tonne per day capacity plant for the production of pulses at Ambat near Aurangabad.

The company has also set up a new 100-tonne per day wheat flour plant at Ketkawale near Pune with an investment of Rs 6 crore.
