Venus to market in Ukraine

Chandigarh-based Venus Remedies has got its research product, an FDC (fixed dose combination) of Cephalosporin with Beta-Lactamase, registered in Ukraine after getting all necessary regulatory approvals.

The combination, developed in-house by the company's research wing, was launched in the Indian market in FY05, after clearing phase-III clinical trials and the DCGI approval for the same and has become a Rs 90-crore product since then.

Now, the company has got its first success overseas after getting an approval from the Ukraine authorities to market the innovative formulation there.

The first order for bulk supplies of this formulation, for which the company has already filed a patent in Ukraine, has been received by the company.

This registration will not only bring in good volume of sales of the speciality injectable from the Ukrainian market, but also further boost the company's market penetration in the CIS(Commonwealth of Independent States) countries.
