Diversified business firm Videocon Industries today posted a 23.6 per cent increase its net profit to Rs 153.69 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2010 over the same period last fiscal.
The company had a net profit of Rs 124.35 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal, Videocon Industries said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
The company's sales increased by 18 per cent to Rs 2,893.65 crore from Rs 2,461.37 crore recorded in the year-ago period.
During the period, Videocon's consumer electronics and home appliances business posted a revenue of Rs 2,648.59 crore while it recorded Rs 2,213.48 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal.
Meanwhile, revenue of its crude oil and natural gas business witnessed a marginal decline of 1 per cent to Rs 245.06 crore from Rs 247.89 crore posted in the year-ago period.
