Videocon Ind Q2 net up 14% at Rs 176 cr

Diversified business conglomerate Videocon Industries today posted a 14.27% increase in its net profit at Rs 175.63 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2011.

The company had a net profit of Rs 153.69 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2010, Videocon Industries said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

During the reporting quarter, the company had a sales of Rs 3,324.59 crore, a 14.89% increase from Rs 2,893.65 crore sales posted in the corresponding quarter last fiscal.

For the six months-ended June 30, 2011, the company had a net profit of Rs 342.32 crore while it had a sales of Rs 6,507.15 crore.

 

Videocon operates in various business segments, including consumer electronics and home appliances, crude oil and natural gas.

Shares of Videocon Industries closed at Rs 179.35 on the BSE, down 0.50% from its previous close.
