Vijay Bhatnagar named ArcelorMittal India CEO

Bhatnagar, who was also appointed as Executive Vice President, will remain a member of the management committee, a statement from the company said.

Sanak Mishra, who was hitherto heading the India operations, has become CEO of greenfield operations in the country, a company spokesperson said.

Robrecht Himpe, who is the CEO Flat Europe, and Amaud Poupart-Lafarge (Africa and CIS) are the new members of the management committee.

 

Further, Andre van den Bossche and Narendra Chaudhary would be retiring from the committee in due course. Bossche is in charge of Global Trade Policy, Steel Contact Groups, Mandates and Associations while Chaudhary is the CEO Africa and CIS.

According to the statement, Bossche would continue to serve as a consultant to the CEO and Poupart Lafarge would assume the responsibilities of Chaudhary upon his retirement.

The new management appointments follow changes made to the Group Management Board of the company announced on April 21. Members of the GMB also sit on the management committee.

In addition, Bhikam Agarwal has been appointed as the Executive Vice President and Head of Finance.
