Media veteran Vijay Gopal Jindal joins JSPL as advisor to Naveen

Will provide strategic direction to various business segments and functions of JSPL

Vijay Gopal Jindal has joined Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL) as advisor to Chairman Naveen Jindal. In his role, he will provide strategic direction to various business segments and functions of JSPL working closely with the apex leadership of JSPL, chairman and Ravi Uppal, managing director and group CEO.

A media industry veteran, Vijay Gopal Jindal has more than 31 years of experience in managing businesses, brands, private equity investments and undertaking strategic initiatives. With long stints in senior management positions in organisations like The Times Group and Zee TV.

He has played a proactive role in the creation in some of India’s mega brands in media & entertainment in very competitive environments, said the company's statement. Mr Vijay Gopal Jindal was co-chairman of marketing and advertising services of Prasar Bharti along-with Alique Padamsee. Post his tenure at ZEE, he was Chief of Private Equities in Bennett Coleman & Co. He was also the CEO of the Economic Times from 1990-95.
