Vijaya Bank net dips 49% to Rs 55.67 crore

Vijaya Bank has posted a net profit of Rs 55.67 crore for the three months to December 2004, down 49.44 per cent year on year.

Total income decreased 2.5 per cent to Rs 611.73. Earning per share was Rs 1.28 compared with Rs 2.54 for the quarter ending December 2003.

At the end of the quarter, the bank's net non performing assets ratio was 0.63 per cent. Other income fell 38 per cent year on year to Rs 68.8 crore.

The capital adequacy ratio at the end of the quarter was 12.79 per cent compared with 14.97 per cent at the end of December 2003. For the nine months to December, net profits decreased 22.7 per cent to Rs 224.65 crore.
