Luggage maker VIP Industries today posted 79.12% increase in consolidated net profit for the quarter ended March 31, 2011 at Rs 16.3 crore.
In the same period last fiscal, the company's consolidated net profit was Rs 9.1 crore.
VIP's consolidated net sales for the quarter under review increased 20.94% at Rs 166.3 crore, compared to Rs 137.5 crore in the quarter ended March 31, 2010.
For the year ended March 31, VIP's net profit grew 83.64% at Rs 88.7 crore, compared to Rs 48.3 crore in 2009-10, it said in a statement.
The company's consolidated net sales in 2010-11 increased 17.71% at Rs 757.7 crore, as against Rs 643.7 crore in the previous year the statement added.
