VIP, Jai Balaji, Educomp results

VIP net drops 87.5%

VIP Industries reported net profit at Rs 10 lakh for the quarter ended September 30, 2006, 87.5 per cent low compared with Rs 85 lakh for the corresponding quarter in 2005. Net sales and income from operations was up at Rs 76.29 crore, 17.11 per cent high compared with Rs 65.14 crore in 2005. The fall in profit is attributed to an ad campaign being rolled out by the company as well as start up costs of the new plant at Haridwar.

Jai Balaji net down

Jai Balaji Sponge, the flagship company of the Jai Balaji group, has posted net profit at Rs 6.19 crore in the quarter ended September 30 compared with Rs 6.47 crore last year. The company's sales went up from Rs 115. 69 crore to Rs 131.36 crore, 14 per cent increase.

Educomp net at Rs 5cr

Educomp Solutions, the country's leading e-learning enabler reported net profit at Rs 5.06 crore in the second quarter against Rs 2.64 crore in the corresponding quarter of last year. Educomp's revenues were up at Rs 20.1 crore from Rs 9.63 crore in the year-ago quarter.
