Vistara will launch a daily flight to Port Blair from Kolkata and Delhi (via Kolkata) from September 30. Port Blair is the airline's 18th destination.
The airline has 11 Airbus A320 aircraft and is increasing its network and this year it had added six new destinations including Port Blair.
"Port Blair and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands are increasingly becoming popular leisure destinations in India. With these new services, we strive towards enhancing regional connectivity to a location where air connectivity is vital for the economy and growth as it is the only convenient means of travel for residents of the islands and travelers alike," Vistara CEO Phee Teik Yeoh said in a statement.
Flights to Port Blair are included in the category II routes and airlines have to deploy 10% of the metro route capacity on category II routes as per the route dispersal guidelines of the civil aviation ministry.
