Vistara has signed a service agreement with Pratt & Whitney to maintain its V2500 engines. The agreement will improve safety and operational efficiency, the airline said. The airline operates six Airbus A320 planes at present and will induct 20 planes of similar type by 2018.
"Since our operational launch, we have been able to achieve on-time performance in excess of 90% and we want to consistently maintain that superior level of service for our customers. We needed a reliable and effective maintenance partner and we are confident that the agreement with Pratt & Whitney will help us minimize unscheduled removal of engines and provide the highest standards of safety," said Phee Teik Yeoh, CEO, Vistara.
At present, Vistara offers 245 weekly frequencies to 10 destinations in India, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Goa, Guwahati and Bagdogra. It will add service to Bhubaneshwar from October.
