Visakhapatnam Steel Plant achieved a sales of Rs 3,431 crore during the April-August 2007 period, registering a growth of 7 per cent, over Rs 3,198 crore during the same period, last year. |
Sale of 5,03,684 tonne of value-added products during the period was up 20 per cent over the corresponding period last year, the company stated in a press release here today. Projects sales stood at 2,56,360 tonne, up 22.4 per cent over the corresponding period last year. |
Addressing the shareholders at the company's 25th annual general meeting today, PK Bishnoi, chairman-cum-managing director , said the company had embarked on the expansion programme. It would double its capacity from 3 million tonne to 6.3 million tonne. |
Besides, he said the Corporate Plan 2020 had been finalised, which aims to take the capacity of the plant up to 16 million tonne by 2020. |
