Indian men never had it so good in terms of options for personal care as beauty chains have been introducing special product range for men. VLCC is the latest one to plan such a range. |
According to Sandeep Ahuja, chief operating officer, VLCC Personal Care, they would be introducing their men's range in the last quarter of this fiscal with five products. Apart from this, it would also be expanding its flagship 'Shape-Up' range to bring in more niche products. |
These products, like the existing anti-cellulite range, will be oriented towards 'problem solving' and in the area of skin tightening. Apart from this, the seasonal roll out of products would carry on through the year, Ahuja said. |
VLCC's second manufacturing unit in Haridwar is expected to become fully operational in eight months and help boost the company's expansion programmes. |
The company is still testing waters with its retail outlets, Beauty Shops, and it plans to add two more to the existing five outlets by the fiscal end. |
"The new outlets in Ludhiana, Bangalore and Faridabad will also offer certain services such as nail and body art, as well as pedicure using a new hydrospa technique that we have imported," says Ahuja. |
The full scale roll out of these stores would happen during 2006-07, said Ahuja, adding that they had already identified about a dozen properties for this purpose. All the stores would either be in malls or on high streets. |
