IT firm VMware today said it will expand its facility in Pune, which can accommodate 185 more people for its R&D operations.
VMware has leased an additional area of 26,391 square feet in Wakdewadi, Pune, where it already has a presence, the company said in a statement.
The expansion will allow VMware to accommodate an additional 185 employees who will contribute to the firm's innovations in R&D, it added.

The centre currently employs 200 employees, who play a key role in supporting VMware's global operations.
VMware's India-based R&D and support operations are second in size and scale after the company's headquarters in California, US.
The India R&D operations make significant contribution to the company's portfolio of virtualisation and cloud computing products, it said.
"Our R&D team in Pune has delivered many innovations in the areas of networking and security, key components of our Software Defined Data Centre strategy, and we are pleased to grow our operations here," VMware Managing Director India and SAARC T Srinivasan said.
In March, VMware CEO Pat Gelsinger had announced a multi-year investment of $120 million to fund the company's expansion in Bengaluru.
VMware established a presence in India in 2005 and today serves about 3,000 customers, employs some 2,000 staff and works with 100 partners here.
Over the last eight years, it has set up offices in New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Pune, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad, with R&D centres in Bengaluru and Pune.
Its global revenues stood at $4.61 billion in 2012.
