Volkswagen India sees change of guard

On July 1, Andreas Lauermann will succeed Mahesh Kodumudi who is moving to Volkswagen Group of America

Andreas Lauermann has been appointed as the new President & Managing Director of Volkswagen India with effect from 1st July. He will succeed Mahesh Kodumudi, who will take over a position with Volkswagen Group of America with effect from 1st June.

Kodumudi will continue to act in an Advisory Role to Volkswagen Group India in the coming months.

Andreas Lauermann (53) holds a doctorate degree from the University of Passau and Technical University Munich. He started his career with TCW Tranfer-Centrum for Production Logistics and Technology Management in Munich before joining Volkswagen AG in 1997.

Kodumudi (49), who holds Engineering and Management degrees from India and the USA, has led Volkswagen India since 1st March 2013. Besides his responsibility as President & Managing Director at the Indian production company of Volkswagen in Chakan, Pune, Kodumudi became Chief Representative of Volkswagen Group India in March 2014.
