Tata group company Voltas today said its net profit for the year ended March 31, 2009, rose by 21 per cent to Rs 251.40 crore, over the same period last year.
The company had a net profit of Rs 207.80 crore March quarter of 2008, Voltas said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Total income of the company rose to Rs 4,361.72 crore for the year ended March 2009, from Rs 3,215.45 crore for the same period ended March 2008.
The board of directors of the company has approved a dividend of Rs 1.60 a piece for the year 2008-09.
In another filing on the BSE, the company has bagged two orders worth Rs 300 crore from Kolkata's Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) Airport and Chennai International Airport for electro-mechanical projects.
The scope of work includes internal electrification, plumbing and drainage system works to be completed in 2 years months and 1 year nine months respectively, it added.
Shares of Voltas settled at Rs 98.05, up 5.37 per cent on the BSE.
